The Woman's Comfort Book
Jennifer Louden
This is a really practical, hands-on book with great ideas for creating comfort in our lives. The subtitle of the book is "A Self-Nurturing Guide for Restoring Balance in Your Life", and that about sums up the whole book. This book challenges you to value yourself enough to find time, energy, and resources to do for yourself what you're already likely doing for everyone else.
It offers hundreds of specific ideas for finding comfort such as:
- a sound bath
- herbal help
- finding rituals
- affirmations
- comfort clothing
- nature's solace
- animal antidotes
- comfort network
- comfort box
and many, many more.
Many of the ideas are far beyond my ability to self-nurture and others are far beyond my financial means, but overall, the author has a lot to offer and everyone will find something they can do to help bring comfort to themselves (mostly, without chocolate!). There is even a "Comfort at a Glance" chart in the book to help you find the specific suggestions for specific times of struggle, eg. feeling anxious, use your "comfort cards".Sage
