Repressed Memories: A Journey to Recovery from Sexual Abuse

Renee Fredrickson, Ph. D.

Ahh...This book was such a great one for me to read when I was just beginning to uncover my first memories of abuse, and I still go back and read a few dog-eared pages when I'm feeling "stuck." The book describes in some depth how and why we often "forget" traumatic events from our childhood in a way that's easy to understand. There's also just pages and pages on different ways we can try to work through our memories as they come to the surface. Overall, the book is written in a way that's compassionate, but also non-persuasive and very pratical--two traits that the doubting logician who's maybe lodging in your head will appreciate.
