My Sister

I've seen generations fight the Monster who has thrust his ugliness into your world.
Each time, I question why, I bargain, I plead.
Each time, I shake my fist, I scream.
I pinch myself...it must be a dream

Those I love should never hurt so much.
...instead, they deserve a loving touch,
...deserve to know how many people love them
...how many people care.

You lead the fight with strength and courage I can only begin to imagine,
your allies standing with you, wanting to be brave
sons, sisters, friends who are family you didn't even know you had, your man...
but it's you alone who faces every day and makes of it everything you can.

I admire you.

I love you.

When words aren't enough, I try to hold you tight in my arms
...to protect you best I can from any more harm.

But mostly, I hold you in my heart
and always will...

All my love,
Dawn
