The forums in the portion of the Recovery Canada - The Wellness Network website that is dedicated to people who are affected by cancer are adminstered by Dawn and Trish Vanson.

Their responsibilities:

They design and maintain these forums.

They moderate some of the forums and oversee the moderators of other forums. Moderating includes:

• being aware of what is ongoing in a forum
• posting messages that re-focus participants or offer gentle reminders
• making participants aware of any changes or events
• deleting inappropriate mesages, based on the Users' Agreement and any other guidelines particular to a forum

Their past experience:

Dawn and Trish come to this position with a wealth of experience. Their combined work experience includes working in teaching positions, in program planning and supportive work with people with special needs, and in rehabilitative counselling of consumers of mental health services. They have been involved in electronic support groups since 1996. In particular, Dawn and Trish Vanson designed the Anonymous Sexual Abuse Recovery (Canada) website in 1997 and 1998 and maintained and moderated the forums there for one year. During that time the website won many significant awards. With their combined experience in working with people and with electronic means, Dawn and Trish Vanson are very capable forum and site administrators.
