Forums for People Living With Cancer
Welcome to the forums for people living with cancer. There are forums available for people who are living with cancer as well as for supporters of those who live with cancer.
The forums at Recovery Canada - The Wellness Network follow the self-help model. They are intended to be a place where you can support and help one another deal with the effects of cancer. You can learn from the things other members have to offer and share with them the things you have learned. You can share and receive validation and encouragement. Many have found forums to be a wonderful adjunct to therapy and other supports that they already have in place.
Forums are message boards where members exchange messages with one another through their web browser program. You can access the forums with even the most basic computer system; there is no need to download any additional software to access any of the forums.
The forums are intended to be an anonymous venue. All members are encouraged to post under an alias. Most of the forums are password-protected. All forums are moderated. The password-protected forums also require members to register their alias in order to establish a consistent identity for themselves and to promote a sense of community.
How do I access the forums?
To request access, send an email to the Forum Administrators. With your request, let us know which forum you wish to be a part of and tell us very briefly why that forum is appropriate for you. We will then send you the User's Agreement that applies to all forums on the Recovery Canada - The Wellness Network site. Once you indicate your acceptance of the agreement, the password information will be sent to you to enable you to access the forum you wish to participate in. Most requests for access are handled within one to two business days. Before you request access to any of the forums at Recovery Canada - The Wellness Network, please be sure you have read, understood, and are able to accept the terms set out in the Forum Users' Agreement.

Public Forum on Cancer
A place where visitors to the public portion of the Recovery Canada - The Wellness Network website can read and post messages about cancer. This is a place where you can look for support without waiting for a password, offer support, offer helpful information, or give honour to those who live with cancer.
General Support Forum for People Who Live with Cancer - Coming Soon!
A password-protected forum where anyone who personally lives with cancer can share, offer encouragement and receive support. Exchanging ideas, stories, and words of encouragement with others who experience similar things can be very helpful. Venting your frustrations is much more acceptable among those who know what it's like. We hope that you will find this forum to be a place that gives you courage on your journey and enhances your life.
General Forum for Supporters of Those Who Live With Cancer - Coming Soon!
Supporting people who live with cancer can be a difficult role. People in supporting roles also need to share with others who understand. In these forums you can share coping strategies, learn from one another, and encourage one another. As you do, you may find some healing for yourself. We hope that this will be a place where you can feel secure in sharing with others the struggles and joys that you experience along the way.
